Loon Lodge February Meeting

Greetings Cherubs!!

Our Chinese New Year meeting at Quan’s was a success (as always). Our small and intimate

gathering was just what the doctor ordered following a busy holiday season. As always, our hosts were top-notch and our most sincere thanks go out to them.

Our next meeting will be on Wednesday, February 26, 2025 at the Loon Lodge in Lakeville at

28 Precinct St. Lakeville MA (508-947-1100). Because we are creatures of habit, our

customary social hour will begin around 5:30(ish) and be followed by an Italian buffet that

Michael Corleone would be proud of starting at about 6:30.

Our very special guest speaker will be the Honorable Michael Brennan, presiding justice at the Taunton District Court. Judge Brennan will, in addition to regaling us with war stories from Bristol County, discuss recent changes to the domestic restraining order law regarding “coercive control.” This is a can’t-miss opportunity for district court practitioners!!

The cost of admission for this event will only set you back $40 per person and can be paid at the door, or via Venmo. As always, guests are more than welcome. Please RSVP to the PDBA email, or our resident event coordinator ( marshalljohnsonesq@gmail.com or 508-317-4002).

Law Day: Thursday, May 1, 2025

The PDBA will be resuming it’s Law Day program, which will take place on Thursday, May 1,

2025. The day program will commence at 9am and will include presentations by members of the judiciary, guest speakers, a Mock Trial and exhibits, as well as a CLE program. We will

conclude with a Law Day banquet commencing at 5:30 at Indian Pond Country Club in

Kingston. Please stay tuned (and maybe check the website at www.plymouthdistrictbar.org ) for additional details as they become available.

BAR ASSOCIATION ROOM: Please be reminded that all PDBA members have access to a

Bar Association room in the library at the courthouse for meetings, depositions, etc. Please

contact Jean Lee at 508-583-6966 to arrange to use this facility. Please try to give Jean as much advance notice as possible when you realized that you want to reserve the room. Remember, if we don’t use it, we might lose it.

CANCELLATION POLICY: All members, guests, etc. are reminded of our utterly reasonable

cancellation policy which states that if you make a reservation for one of our fabulous meetings and the vicissitudes of life cause you to cancel less than 48 hours prior to said meeting, and the PDBA is charged for your meal we reserve the right to ask you to spin up the locks and release the moths from your wallets and bring yourselves flush with the PDBA/AOBA.
